Ankle fractures are common injuries that can occur after a slip or a fall. Some ankle fractures are more severe and require surgery. Diane fell sustaining a fracture and dislocation of her ankle. She was seen in the emergency room and her fracture was reduced. Dr. Zell was asked to take over her care given her more complex ankle fracture. Diane was taken to the operating room the day of her injury for surgery to stabilize the 3 distinct fractures of her ankle. She has done well following surgery. At her four-month appointment she tells me that she is wearing regular shoes and is very happy with her progress.
