It’s now a year and several months since my ankle fusion (4/1/10) and I can’t tell you how pleased I am with the results.

Walking without a limp certainly is a surprise to me – no one would know of my “long term problem” unless I related it.

I wanted to write in thanks of the surgery you performed on my heel December 2, 2010. For ten years I suffered acute Achilles tendinitis pain in my right heel restricting movement and enjoyment of life. I was reluctant to consider surgery because of a prior warning from another doctor regarding any type of foot surgery. My constant and recently growing pain in my heel along with your reassurance this surgery with a high degree of success helped me make a decision to proceed.

Now, nearly eight days after the surgery I walk with less pain than I have in ten years. While the strength of the heel is not that of its companion on the left it continues to improve. The pain that remains is residual and often so light I don’t think about it when I walk. I sense I’ve enjoyed a strong and swift recovery for which I thank adherence to your post surgery instructions and my healthy constitution.
